WEEK 13: RECAP

THURSDAY NIGHT GAME

Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots The Bill’s are cemented in the top position in the AFC PR’s and the Pat’s hold on to 6th place. Buffalo controlled the game with almost 39 minutes of ball possession, the final score was Bills 24-10.

EARLY SUNDAY GAMES

Three games this Sunday did not result in significant change in INDIVIDUAL Power Rankings, but may result in changes to RELATIVE PR’s. The Steelers beat Atlanta 19-16 and climbed to 11th, The Rams drop to 11th after losing 27-23 to Seattle, and Cincinnati climbs to 3rd after beating the Chiefs 27-24.

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears The Bears held on to a 19-10 lead in the 4th quarter, but game up 18 unanswered points to lose 28-19 to the Packers. Green Bay gets out of the double digits at 7th in the NFC, while Chicago falls to the bottom of the Conference PR’s.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions This game was all Lions, as QB Jared Goff passed for 340 yards and 2 TD’s. Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence was sidelined in the 4th quarter when his team trailed by 26 points. The Lions won 40-14 to grab 6th in the NFC, while the Jag’s fall to 14th.

NY Jets @ Minnesota Vikings The Vikings looked to have this game in the bag with a 14 point lead at the end of the 1st half. The Jets mounted a comeback but were stifled by Vike’s Safety Camryn Bynum who intercepted in the last 10 seconds, Vikings win 27-22. The Jets drop to 4th in the AFC PR’s.

Washington Commanders @ NY Giants The most frustrating thing about a tie game is that it does not mark the beginning or continuation of a winning streak, consider it a wasted week. Overtime is boring, this one ended with Giants PK Graham Gano coming up short on a 58 yard field goal. Giants are at 13th, Commanders are 9th in NFC PR’s.

Tennessee Titans @ Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts had a big game for the Eagles with 3 TD passes and another TD on the ground. Philly had an easy victory over the Titans 35-10, and held RB Derrick Henry to only 30 yards rushing. Eagles hold on to 3rd in the NFC, the Titans fall to 9th in the AFC PR’s.

Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens This game was like watching paint dry, the only excitement was Ravens QB Tyler Huntley scoring on a TD run with 28 seconds remaining to win 10-9. Denver was an underdog for this game, so the close finish lifts them to 13th, while Baltimore stays at 5th in the AFC PR’s.

Cleveland Browns @ Houston Texans Browns returning QB Deshaun Watson lucked out with Houston as his first opponent of the season. The Browns cruised to a 27-14 win, despite a lackluster performance by Watson. Cleveland climbs to 8th, the Texans are 15th in the AFC PR’s.

LATE SUNDAY GAMES

Miami Dolphins @ San Francisco 49ers Miami started the game on a positive note with a 75 yard TD by Trent Sherfield, but it was all downhill from there. Niners replacement QB Brock Purdy played well enough, and DE Nick Bosa picked up 3 QB Sacks for a Niners win 33-17. The Dolphins drop to 11th in the AFC.

LA Chargers @ Las Vegas Raiders The overrated Raiders pulled off their 3rd win in a row with a 27-20 victory over the Chargers. Vegas WR Davante Adams was the star again, with 8 catches for 177 yards. The win lifts the Raiders to 7th in the AFC while the Chargers fall to 10th.

Indianapolis Colts @ Dallas Cowboys The Cowboys defence nullified the Colts with 3 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. Dallas RB’s Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliot combined for 168 yards rushing, setting up 33 points in the 4th quarter alone. Cowboys win big, 54-19 and hold 1st in the NFC, Indianapolis is at the bottom of the entire NFL.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers The Saints thought they had it wrapped up 16-3 with 5:21 left, then Bucc’s QB Tom Brady took over. Brady manufactured 14 points in his 44th final quarter comeback to win 17-16. The Saints drop to 12th, the Bucc’s are 8th in NFC PR’s.
