DC Defenders 29, Arlington Renegades 28
With just four seconds left in the fourth quarter Defenders kicker Matt McCrane nailed a 49-yard field goal to secure the 29 to 28 victory in Arlington. The nail-biter between the Defenders and the Renegades took every possible second to decide the winner after D.C. lost to Arlington last year in the XFL Championship. The Defenders are now 2-1 overall with a 1-1 XFL conference record. D.C. is on a two-game win streak after their loss to San Antonio in week 1.
It was a game where both teams learned a lot about what they’re capable of. Arlington learned that their offense and defense is pitiful and needs lots of work, and DC learned they can shore up a lot on the defensive side of the ball while somehow figuring out an offense that seemingly cannot run the ball. After letting up a huge comeback, Arlington has a lot of changes to make on the fly.
Birmingham Stallions 33, Memphis Showboats 14
Through the entire game, Birmingham dominated every way you can think of. Case Cookus had no time to throw when the Stallions’ D-Line rushed him, and he went down 5 times, finishing with only 139 passing yards. The Showboats offense couldn’t get anything going the entire game, and even a QB change late couldn’t salvage any momentum.
The big surprise from this game was Adrien Martinez, who showed he can be a legit UFL, and possibly even a future NFL QB. His ability to run and throw accurately erases any doubt that the Stallions are title contenders once more. This dude is going to cause some problems for the rest of the UFL.

St. Louis Battlehawks 31, San Antonio Brahmas 24
The contenders of the XFL conference squared off in San Antonio, putting on a show in Week 3. The Battlehawks played well early, with offense on full display. Hakeem Butler filled the highlight reel, putting together a solid 87 yard 1 TD performance. Offense took the show in the Brahmas first game without social media star Deestroying, specifically in their comeback bid late in the game.
However, this loss is going to hurt extra for Brahmas fans. Not only did they take the loss, they lost starting QB Chase Garbers for the season. Now the Brahmas have more questions than answers, especially on the injury front. St Louis has emerged as the front runner in the XFL conference as of now.
Michigan Panthers 34, Houston Roughnecks 20
EJ Perry was coming off a shaky up-and-down performance against Birmingham in Week 2, but he certainly didn’t look like it in Week 3. In fact, he looked like one of the best QBs in the UFL against the Roughnecks. 208 yards through the air, especially to standout Marcus Simms, and 60 yards rushing proved how dominant Michigan can be. The Panthers defense was equally dominant, stifling an injury-riddle Roughnecks for much of the game.
Houston still hasn’t notched a win in the column yet, but injuries have prevented stars such as Mark Thompson from showing their stuff on the field. With several injuries slated to heal, will the Roughnecks be able to play up to their potential?
