Notre Dame College is known for producing some very talented players over the past five years or so. They have a history of taking raw athletes who may not be the prototypical height, or weight and turning them into stars. Antoine Holloway is one of those players looking for his first professional opportunity.

Antoine Holloway Leaves High School as a Two Sport Athlete
Antoine Holloway wrestled in addition to playing football. Watching the way he plays defensive back, shows that he has this in his background. He isn’t afraid to deliver a hit, and he plays aggressively. However he also shows above-average body control, and instincts two things, I would argue were likely influenced by his time as a wrestler.
He also graduated top 20 in his class. He was a two-way player on the football field, seeing time as a receiver and defensive back. He collected 86 tackles, 2 interceptions, 34 receptions for 652 yards, and 6 total touchdowns in his senior season. He didn’t find offers as early as expected:
He later received offers from Findlay College, Notre Dame College, Wayne State University, Walsh University, Sienna Heights University, Slippery Rock University, Lake Erie College, and Alderson Broaddus between 2018, and 2019.
College Career Begins with a Bang
He chose Walsh University as a freshman. He played in nine games, starting two, with Walsh in that first season but still managed 23 tackles, 1 for a loss, 13 pass breakups, 3 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles. He made an impact any time he saw the field for Walsh. He was named Freshman of the Year and also made the honorable mention list for All-Conference. At this point Antoine Holloway’s name was becomming known.

When Covid came in 2020 Antoine Holloway did not play instead waiting out the pandemic. He returned in 2021, this time at Notre Dame College, the top D2 school in the nation at the time, and a school that had originally offered him almost three years before.
In late 2020 Garrett Mack was the recruiting coordinator, while Jake Chestnut was the Defensive Coordinator, and Mitchell White was the Defensive Backs Coach/Pass Game Coordinator. In his first season, he had a career year intercepting 6 passes, including 1 pick-six. He added 44 tackles, 3 for a loss, 9 pass breakups, and a scoop and score.
After the 2021 season, Mack was promoted to Head Coach, and David Tolbert was hired as defensive backs coach. Antoine Holloway would add punt return duties to his resume while also setting a career-high in tackles, and pass breakups. He would collect 62 tackles, 1.5 for a loss, 2 interceptions, and 16 pass breakups. Adding 16 punt returns for 126 yards.

In 2023 it was more of the same playing in 12 games he had 38 tackles, 4 for a loss, 2 interceptions, and 4 pass breakups with 11 punt returns for 96 yards. Ending his career having played in 44 games he had 9 tackles for a loss, 13 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 47 pass break ups. Antoine Holloway would declare for the 2024 NFL Draft process in January and attend a proday at Youngstown.
Antoine Holloway Pro-Day Performance
Participating in the Youngstown Pro Day he put up respectable numbers with a couple of results that stick out as potential indicators of future success.
40: 4.61
Shuttle: 4.09
3 cone: 6.83
Bench 12 reps
Vertical: 36.5
His shuttle and 3-cone drills display above-average lateral agility and change of direction. Potentially the most important traits a defensive back can have. You can mask below-average speed, but you can’t as easily mask a lack of agility.
What Does the Tape Say?
Antoine Holloway tracks the ball well while it’s in the air which is why he found a way to create so much havoc in the passing game. He has made more than one jaw-dropping interception and showed incredible body control on one play dragging his toes to intercept a pass on the sideline.
He shows an innate ability to play the receiver while in coverage, only to undercut the receiver at the right moment to take the ball away. What he lacks in height he makes up for in tenacity. The 5’8 defensive back shows no fear when coming up to stop the run. He has a few big hits on opposing receivers peppered through his highlight film. Whoever brings him in is getting a low-risk, high-reward prospect.
