Darius Morrison is a small school prospect coming out of Missouri Baptist University in the 2024 draft class. A school that has little to no NFL attention currently, has churned out some very interesting prospects over the last few seasons. Morrison is high on that list.
A Missouri kid through and through Darius Morrison grew up in St. Charles Missouri where he would later attend St Charles West High School being named All-Conference cornerback AND ar running back. He was originally recruited by Missouri Western State University as a defensive back.

From Defense to Offense
Not only was Darius Morrison recruited to play defense, he played and contributed in games as a true freshman. Seeing action in 8 games he had 4 tackles, and 1 pass break up. After the 2018 season, Morrison transferred to Lindenwood. Once again, staying close to home.
Darius Morrison did not play sports with the university before moving on one more time to Missouri Baptist University where he would play four more seasons, this time as a running back. He settled back in at running back and went right back to being a contributor. His first season with MBU, he had 30 offensive touches for 116 yards in just 5 games.
Playing in 11 games the following season he triples his touches. He collected 77 carries, 13 receptions, 2 kick returns and 1 tackle. He produced 559 yards and 6 total touchdowns. In 2022 his touch count dropped slightly, but he produced more yards in every way he touched the ball. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry, 16.5 per reception, and 19.8 per kick return. For a grand total of 547 yards and 6 touchdowns.
In 2023 Darius Morrison would have a career year in the run game. He nearly doubled his carries, and yards, while scoring a career-high 7 touchdowns. He would finish with 128 total touches for 816 total yards finishing on a high note. Having played in 44 total games seeing time on offense and defense, Morrison opted to attempt to enter the professional ranks in 2024.

At his pro-day he put up respectable numbers:
4.56 40-yard dash
10 ft 3 in broad jump
39.5 vertical
17 reps in bench press
Alternative Paths Pursued
Darius Morrison, still a free agent decided to attend a UFL Showcase in order to try and get on the radar of UFL teams. So far no contract has come but at some point there will be a team that can’t pass on signing a 6’2 225 pound back that runs a 4.5 40-yard dash. He has the size, and speed to run a defender over, then take it to the house out running defenders along the way. This combination is what helped him produce over 6 yards per carry as a senior and consistently improve his yards per carry mark as he grew into playing running back full time.
His defensive background in college makes him a viable candidate to play on special teams coverage units. His offensive background lends itself to being used as a blocker on return units. He also has returned kicks himself, a role that could eventually be his best ticket to playing on a UFL, CFL, or NFL team.
To his credit Darius Morrison has remained open to his options moving forward. He is open to playing indoor/arena football, in Europe, Japan, Mexico, or the new IFA which will play in the US and Mexico. With his skillset I believe he would be a good fit for the DC Defenders who have leaned toward bigger backs that still have the burst to produce big plays. In the mold of Abram Smith, and Ryquell Armstead. He has some form of interest from at least 2 teams currently.
