Tri-City RiverGators: Inaugural Rewind 2025

Tri-City RiverGators

The TriCity RiverGators’ Inaugural season is winding down as they prepare for the franchise’s first-ever playoff game. But who are the RiverGators!?

The  Tri-City RiverGators are a brand new franchise in the AAL2, a developmental Indoor football league. Tri-City plays its games at the Now Soccer Academy in Madison, Alabama. Originally planned for Albany, Georgia the RiverGators’ ownership decided on a move and rebrand after the previous league, the EIF, broke apart. Tri-City RiverGators’ football has seen its share of ups and downs throughout 2025 at 2-6 thus far.

Looking at the wins and losses columb you would think this season has been a bit of a dud… but this season isn’t just about winning. The 2025 campaign through the AAL2 South Division has been more about establishing indoor football in north Alabama and building a base. The front office and social media management have been top of the line considering the level of football. If you check their Facebook or TikTok (players’ pages too) you’ll find plenty on this team!

Meet the Tri-City RiverGators Staff:

Owner: Brandon Glenn

Head Coach: Alvin Agee(Also DC)

Coach Agee also has commitments in the Birmingham Area working with athletes at Athletics Engineering at which he is the owner. Coach Agee seems to be a players’ coach as everyone we have talked to had high praises for his ability to get across to the players and athletes he mentors.

Learn more about Coach Agee and some of the players here:

Off Coordinator: Eddie Hall

Hall is known for his ability to completely turn offenses around in the eleven-man game, and seemingly the eight-man version too. Despite the low overall scoring in the 2025 season, Hall’s offenses have had the ability to get up and down the field in most games. He also serves as the running backs coach at Center Point High School.

Notable RiverGators:

Trey Dixon WR/DB- Despite no college experience he seems to have the on-field awareness and drive to find a home in one of the Big 3*

Mike Lee WR- Huge part of the offense, expect him around in the AAL2 or higher leagues for the foreseeable future

Enrique Crumbs LB/Jack -Spent Time in AIF, seems to be positioning himself for another run at the next level

Jason Hall RB/FB- Bruiser style runner, pivotal part of controlling the pace of a game, expect him to move up in the future

Also, we had a chance to get on the phone with running back Jason Hall and get an inside look at how things are run. His social media presence and openness to talking about his experience in the indoor game were pivotal to getting this article out! His TikTok will be linked below if you want to follow his football Journey.

Best and Worst of ‘25

Best Win:

Game 1- Mississippi Wolfpack

20-14

This game put on a full display as to what the Tri-City RiverGators could be, a tough grind-it-out display ultimately winning a dog fight in OT. Late game heroics and the don’t quit attitude this squad has shown through close losses all year was a good display of what we should see in 2026.

Worst Loss:

Game 3- Georgia Indians

18-60

Away games in arena and indoor football are always an uphill battle, only made worse when the team cohesion isn’t there. The week three display seen in this game shows what happens when things aren’t clicking and you are ill-prepared for a matchup against the future one seed in your division.

Honorable Mention:

Game 5- Peach State

30-40

This game was originally supposed to be played against the Alabama Empire, but was cancelled on short notice. The Tri-City RiverGators would show flashes of brilliance offensively in this match-up up racking up 30 points against a squad that routinely takes on NAL teams in exhibition matches. Even in taking a loss, it was a great display of that never-give-in mentality this team has built throughout the season.

Playoff Preview:

Tri-City will head to Batesville, Mississippi on the twenty-eighth to take on the Wolf Pack for a Fourth match-up this season. If OL play can be sured up look for the Tri-City RiverGators to advance. The last match-up was a 20-17 dog fight. According to my sources, the Tri-City RiverGators were down a couple of key players for the last match-up!

2025 AAL2 Playoff Bracket

Keys to the Game:

-Defense keeps it low-scoring

– Consistent ground game

– QB has time to get the ball out

2026 Outlook?

Take 2025 for what it is, the foundation for the future. Those that I talked to mentioned that much of this team should be back next year. If so working out the kinks should be a breeze. Upgrades to the Offensive Line should be expected, along with new additions on the defensive front( as long as they don’t lose the current talent to higher leagues).

Ownership seems poised to make a few key upgrades including home venue and equipment (can’t get better than the current Unis ). There were even hints at a push for a higher-level league within the next 5 years bearing Tri-City RiverGators plans for the next couple of years. If you’re local to this franchise feel free to catch a game at Now Soccer Academy. The tickets are cheap for such competitive on-field play.
