There are only 8 more regular season Cup Series races remain in the NASCAR regular season and one driver currently holds the line at the final spot in the playoffs. That is Bubba Wallace, driver of 23XI Racing in the #23 car, who has been having a tough stretch of finishes recently and is on a downward trajectory in the standings. Wallace still holds the line of the final playoff spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Bubba is safe for right now but for how much longer will he be playoff eligible?

Week 19 rankings(Race 19 of 36)
Why Top 16? That is because 16 drivers make the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs cut-off line at the end of the regular season. I’ll start at the no.1 spot of the rankings and work the way down to the 16th driver spot. This will be the model going forward as I come out with each weeks NASCAR Cup Series driver rankings as I see it and incorporate some risers, a few fallers from the previous weeks results and a driver who could be in consideration for on the verge of breaking onto the list going into the next race. With that all said, Let’s begin the rankings list!

Driver Watch; My driver you should be keeping eyes out for that’s emerging as a strong young talent in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff push is driving the #38 car for Front Row MotorSports, Zane Smith.
He avoided the big wreck over the weekend in Atlanta, he was leading laps deep into the race making doing his best to get his first win of the season. If Smith keeps this pace up and gets some more stronger finishes along with the excellent consistency Zane Smith could be in the victory lane and punch a ticket to the playoffs the way he is racing as of recently.

Quick update on the in season challenge tournament brackets, as no perfect brackets still remain. NASCAR has released the betting odds for the second round projected winners this weekend at the Grant Park 165 Chicago Street Course. My tournament winner is still alive, #42 John Hunter Nemechek, he’s got an extremely tough matchup against ahead of him with the winner from last race #9 Chase Elliott.
