The Roughnecks come into 2026 on the hunt for something that has always seemed to elude them: a Championship of any kind. They have made the postseason, though it has changed forms as of late, but they have never claimed a title. They have had plenty of firsts in their short history, including making the postseason under two different coaches and winning the league’s former divisional title game. This season could change all of that, and as you read on, you’ll find why. We can’t forget the players who moved up and jump-started their careers from the NLFA.

2026 Call-ups from Roughnecks:
Levonta Hall- Louisiana Rouxgaroux
Justin Dominick-Louisiana Rouxgaroux
KJ Williams- Wyoming Calvary
Roughnecks Roster Breakdowns:
Antonio Moore WR
High School/College: Southern University of Shreveport
Height: 5′ 8″
Weight: 165 lbs
Age: 20
Moore comes into the 2026 season as a second-year player with high-level aspirations. While Stats hasn’t been a place that he can really hang his hat on, he will be the type of WR that can come in and make immediate contributions. Any experience at this level is crucial, and he will be a factor in 2026
Antonio Walker DB
High School/College: Woodlawn Leadership Academy
Height: 5′ 10″
Weight: 179 lbs
Hometown: Shreveport, LA
Age: 19
Walker comes back into the fold after a more than productive 2026 Campaign. While he is officially recorded as a DB, he contributed on all three sides of the ball in 2025. As a DB, he would come up with nearly as many interceptions(three) as tackles (five). In the same four games, the Shreveport native managed to average 30 yards per catch on 3 total receptions. Even topping it all off with a punt return during the Roughnecks March 15th game. Expect the same in 2026, especially with the Roughnecks losing talent to the NAL and AIF at the rate they have this offseason.
Ethan Ortiz QB
High School/College: North Desoto High School
Height: 6′ 1″
Weight: 200 lbs
Experience: 5
Hometown: Bossier City, LA
Age: 27
Ortiz comes in as a rare veteran of the NFLA. The 6’1” QB has played in 14 games across three seasons. While he is officially a QB, the vast majority of his 2025 contributions have come on the ground. In said games, he has an overall rushing average of more than five yards per carry. The 20 all-time TD Passes speak for themselves. Overall, Ortiz is a very mobile game manager who gives any of the NFLA teams a level-headed option at QB.
Jeremiah Fleming DE
Height: 6′ 1″
Weight: 200 lbs
Experience: 2
Dominant Hand: Right
Age: 20
Flemming enters year two in the NLFA after a fairly productive year one. Year one saw the 6’1”, then 19-year-old contribute in a limited fashion in three games. The previous year’s experience, paired with good size and a drive to advance, will most likely see the second year DL star up front.
Jordan Jones ATH
High School/College: Huntington High School
Height: 6′ 2″
Weight: 230 lbs
Experience: 3
Hometown: Shreveport, LA
Dominant Hand: Right
Age: 24
After a two year hiatus from the NFLA, he comes back into the fold. Will the previous experience too show out. While he hasn’t taken the field under the NLFA banner since 2023, he was very productive in his lone game as he made tackles up front while also contributing on the ground. Jones seems more than capable on either side of the ball. Any two-way player is key at this level. We are excited to see if he can develop and advance ON the field and in the stat category. Keep your eye out for a high production season.
Matt Brothers WR
High School/College: Magnolia School of Excellence
Height: 5′ 11″
Weight: 180 lbs
Experience: 4
Hometown: Bossier City, LA
Dominant Hand: Right
Age: 25
Brothers may be one of the most proven athletes in league play. He comes back into the fold after already putting out team highs in several categories in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, despite only playing in two games, Brothers managed over 115 yards receiving a TD and a 2 PT conversion. His contributions don’t end on offense, as he was able to manage an interception and a TFL in the same span. If the last three years are any indication of 2026, he should be the kind of player who leads his teammates on a fairly inexperienced roster of much younger players, as one of only a small handful of vets.
Ta’Derrion Jacobs-Hudson WR
High School/College: Parkway High School
Height: 6′ 0″
Weight: 180 lbs
Experience: 4
Hometown: Bossier City, LA
Dominant Hand: Right
Age: 25
Similar to Brothers, Hudson comes in as a solid option at WR. All-around, he is the type of athlete that we should see pop up on a pro or, at the very least, high-level developmental roster like the AAL2. In 2024, he contributed to all three phases of the game. In every single game Hudson has played in, he has recorded a tackle and a reception. In two different instances, he has also taken QB snaps, further proving how useful he can be as an all-around utility player. Don’t be surprised if you see major contributions and a possible move up from the 2024 standout in 2026
Mouad Gazawaneh TE
High School/College: Airline High School
Height: 5′ 11″
Weight: 145 lbs
Experience: 2
Hometown: Bossier City
Dominant Hand: Right
Age: 22
Mouad comes into the 2026 season as a veteran of the NLFA style of game for a third straight season, his 9 games across two previous seasons will prove to be a vital part of the Roughnecks having success. No matter the case he has taken snaps on all sides of the ball but will be relied on in down field pass situations as well as the short screen game with his size. The part we may not see in game is the ability to contribute in leadership, with the recent shift in the Louisiana football landscape vet players are a luxury not many teams will have this year.
Quin Green DL
Height: 6′ 1″
Weight: 322 lbs
Experience: 4
Hometown: Shreveport, LA
Dangerous, that’s the biggest takeaway we see with Green. His size, combined with experience in a single position, will give him the ability to navigate this style of football with ease. In his three years and 14 total games of NLFA ball, he has recorded every type of stat you could expect out of a DL, and even some you would not, such as his single INT in 2024.
If you pair that with 6 TFL and a forced fumble, you have to wonder if anyone will be able to contain him. Even with a reworked format, the possibilities are endless. This Roughnecks squad is stacked, and Green could very well be the star at the top when the dust settles.
Sajed Gazawaneh TE/OL
High School/College: Airline High School
Height: 6′ 4″
Weight: 240 lbs
Experience: 2
Hometown: Bossier City
Dominant Hand: Right
Age: 19
We have noted the DL and WR position has veteran experience, but you can’t forget the OL Sajed brings in, yet another position that needs less instruction and pure coaching. Between the 2024 and 2024 seasons, he competed in 9 total games. It’s difficult to really quantify the OL position with stats, but having experience in a position that is one of the shortest in the game is crucial. He won’t light up stat boards, but he will provide the QB time to throw and open lanes to run through.
Newcomers
These are the players that are either new or returning, and we don’t have a ton of information on them. Just because they are new to the league doesn’t mean they don’t need to be highlighted!
Jequalin Macon RB
Adam French RB
Jackson Chauvin RB
As you can tell, this team is going to be a force. They have an embarrassment of riches in experience. This could very well be the best NLFA squad in 2026 on a player-by-player basis! Small leagues are meant to develop young men looking for an opportunity who need just as much support as any bigger league, like the NAL or IFL. If your local hit a game.
If you want to support them, they have a shop, and even watching a game on a stream! You never know when you’re watching the next star. The NLFA and the Wranglers are a pivotal part of the Developmental Football landscape and deserve all of our attention! Now you can even watch them on Shady Sports Network Live Sports due to the new partnership.
