Taylor Powell is a linebacker hoping to hear his name called during the November XFL Draft. Having played his college football at Northern Arizona University, and later Sacramento State the 6’0 230 lb linebacker didn’t participate in the combine, and was recovering from an injury when he participated in the pro day. Due to this he slipped out of the 2022 NFL draft.
However the XFL showcases have provided an opportunity for this rookie linebacker. I expect that we see Powell selected by a team in November. Every team needs a good mike linebacker that knows how to read an offense. That is precisely what they will get with Taylor Powell. The cherry on top is his play on special teams where he has played well on kick coverage teams in the past.
