With the Grey Cup nearly a month behind us at this point it seems like a great time to bring in a CFL guest. Our Guest Sunday, December 11th at 9 am ET is none other than linebacker Micah Awe most recently with the Montreal Alouettes.
Micah joins us to talk about being born in Nigeria, before moving to and ultimately settling in Texas. He would later attend Texas Tech first under legendary coach Tommy Tuberville and later Kliff Kingsbury as well.
After four years at Texas, Tech Awe declared for the 2016 NFL draft. Finding himself unselected. He would later attend a rookie mini-camp workout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before being offered a contract due to his solid play. During the 2016 preseason, he would deliver a hit on Carson Wentz that resulted in fractured ribs.
Unfortunately, Awe would be released and move on to the CFL. Playing his first two seasons with the BC Lions under yet another legendary coach Wally Buono. He has since played on for five different CFL teams in six seasons in the league.
Awe is also the creator of an app designed to help both athletes, and the teams recruiting them…entirely for free. This will be a fun one to unpack. Join us live!
