Aakiel Greer has had a very interesting off-season this year. He graduated in 2021 from Saint Augustine University after spending three seasons there. Losing a year to covid in 2020 set him back in his pursuit of the NFL, but that didn’t stop him from being ranked on several draft boards due to his size and speed.
He would sign with the Arkansas Attack coming into the 2022 season, a team that was slated to play four games outdoors, and pay players a solid salary to do so. Unfortunately the league ran into issues before they ever fielded a game. Players were kicked out of their hotel rooms across the board and sent home never receiving anything from the league to compensate them for their time.
After this Greer had to pivot and look for his next opportunity which led him to pursue the USFL, XFL, and IFL as his next most viable options. He has since signed with the Vegas Knight Hawks, a team that has sent no less than 10 players to the outdoor games this offseason alone.
