Welcome back XFL Fans! Week 1 of the 2023 season is behind us, and it’s time to calculate the XFL Predictions for Week 2. @TheBrysh Power Rankings (PRs) are calculated using a proprietary algorithm, @TheBrysh Power Rankings are also used to calculate weekly predictions. Week 1 predictions for @TheBrysh were 3/4, or 75% on straight-up wins. As the week progress, the numbers get dialed in and the predictions become even more accurate. WEEK 1: RECAP

THURSDAY GAME
St. Louis Battlehawks @ Seattle Sea Dragons(-2.5) The first game of week 2 will see the Seattle Sea Dragons return home, after a 4-point loss to DC, to host the Battlehawks. Seattle is hoping for some crowd support to lift them into the win column, while the St. Louis Battlehawks look to continue their streak after slipping past the Brahmas last week. Watch for QB AJ McCarron and the ‘Hawks to pick the Dragons apart when they fizzle in the 2nd half, St. Louis wins an UPSET 33-30.

SATURDAY GAME
DC Defenders @ Vegas Vipers(-3) Last week the DC Defenders showed that they can run the ball effectively, and their defence has the ability to force turnovers with 3 in the 2nd half. The Vegas Vipers had a great start against the Renegades but gave up an 11-point lead in the 2nd half, mostly due to offensive and special teams miscues. @TheBrysh looks for the Vipers to control ball possession, and for QB Luis Perez to put in a full game and lift the Vipers to a 34-23 victory.

SUNDAY GAMES
San Antonio Brahmas(-3) @ Orlando Guardians At the end of every football season, @TheBrysh identifies the league’s “cellar dweller”, and for the 2023 XFL season, that team is the Orlando Guardians. The Guardians choked on several opportunities to cash in on turnovers, as well as displaying an extremely lacklustre defence. The San Antonio Brahmas lost last week, to arguably the best team in the XFL, but showed that they can run with RB Kalen Ballage, I’ll take the Brahmas in a close game 27-23.
Arlington Renegades @ Houston Roughnecks(-4) The Houston Roughnecks were the biggest surprise of Week 1, scoring 33 of the last 39 points of their game, and spanking the Guardians 33-12. The Arlington Renegades also looked in their first game of the year, scoring 2 defensive TDs to spark a gutsy 2nd half-comeback. Although the Renegades showed the potential for some great defence, Houston’s defence was absolutely dominant, with 7 QB Sacks and 3 interceptions, the edge has to go to the Houston Roughnecks 34-32.

WEEK 2: POWER RANKINGS
The Power Rankings didn’t change drastically from Week 1, due to some great matchups and only one game that would be considered a “blowout”. The top 2 and bottom 2 spots stay unchanged, while the Roughnecks push the Vipers down a notch, and the Brahmas take over 5th from the Sea Dragons. Week 2 may bring some surprises, such as the UPSET victory for the Battlehawks over the Sea Dragons as @TheBrysh calls for.
