Welcome back XFL Fans! Week 4 of the 2023 season is behind us, and it’s time to calculate the XFL Predictions for Week 5. @TheBrysh Power Rankings (PR’s) are calculated using a proprietary algorithm, @TheBrysh Power Rankings are also used to calculate weekly predictions. Week 4 predictions for @TheBrysh were a PERFECT 4/4, for a season total of 12/16 or 75% on straight up wins. As the weeks progress, the numbers get dialled in and the predictions become even more accurate. Point spreads are courtesy of The VSiN Network and are accurate at the time of writing.

WEEK 4: RECAP

THURSDAY NIGHT GAME

Houston Roughnecks(-5) @ Seattle Sea Dragons Both Houston and Seattle are offensive leaders in the XFL this season, in Points per Game and Yards per Game respectfully, and are coming off of a win in week 4. The biggest difference between these two teams is on defence, where to Roughnecks have shut down all opponents and lead the league with 17 QB Sacks. Seattle QB Ben DiNucci will have his work cut out for him against the Houston defence, and his penchant for fumbles and interceptions will lead to a Roughnecks 28-24 victory.

SATURDAY GAMES

DC Defenders(-3) @ St. Louis Battlehawks This looks to be the most promising matchup of the week as the 4-0 Defenders are hosted by the 3-1 Battlehawks, DC is favoured to win. The Defenders won the last match between these two teams 34-28, and are looking to repeat with the best running offence in the XFL. This week, St. Louis has the homefield advantage and QB AJ McCarron will be looking to air the ball out against the Defenders, @TheBrysh predicts an UPSET win for the Battlehawks 29-25

Orlando Guardians @ Vegas Vipers(-7) This week, both 0-4 teams meet to determine who dwells the cellar of the XFL, and the oddsmakers pick the anaemic Vipers over the pathetic Guardians by 7 points. The Vipers offence has shown signs of promise with a decent passing game and an impressive first-down rate. The Guardians, on the other hand, have not had much to write home about this season, losing each of their first 4 games by an average of 16 points. @TheBrysh says that this game will be a sleeper, but in the end the Vipers will cruise to an easy 22-10 win.

SUNDAY NIGHT GAME

Arlington Renegades(-2) @ San Antonio Brahmas The 1-3 Brahmas host the 2-2 Renegades in Sunday night action, although I am not expecting fireworks offensively from either of these teams. Arlington does have the better record this season, but have not confirmed whether or not QB Kyle “Seargent” Sloter will suit up. Either way, @TheBrysh sees the defensive pass rush of the Brahmas overwhelming the Renegades for an UPSET win for San Antonio 25-21.
