CFL WEEK 2 EXPERT PREDICTIONS

Welcome back CFL Fans! Week 1 is behind us, and it’s time to calculate the CFL Predictions for Week 2. @TheBrysh Power Rankings (PR’s) are calculated using a proprietary algorithm, @TheBrysh Power Rankings are also used to calculate weekly predictions. Week 1 predictions for @TheBrysh were 3/4, for a total 75% on straight up wins. As the weeks progress, the numbers get dialled in and the predictions become ever more accurate. Point spreads are courtesy of oddshark.com and are accurate at the time of writing.

THURSDAY GAME

Calgary Stampeders(-6.5) @ Ottawa Redblacks Disappointed by losses in Week 1, both the Stamp’s and the Redblacks will be looking for their first win of the 2023 season. Last week Ottawa looked like a team out-of-sync, as they missed scoring opportunities and committed mistakes that cost them a win. Calgary didn’t look much better, with QB Jake Maier getting a slow start, but look for him to turn it up for a win this week, Stampeders 30-18.

FRIDAY GAME

Winnipeg Blue Bombers(-6.5) @ Saskatchewan Roughriders Probably the biggest rivalry in the CFL West has always been between the ‘Bombers and the ‘Riders, their matchups are always memorable. The Bombers looked to be in West Championship form against the Tiger-Cats last week, while the Roughriders squeaked past the anaemic Elks. This one should be a “no-brainer” for Winnipeg to pick up the win, but look for Saskatchewan to make it exciting, ‘Bombers 31-19.

SATURDAY GAME

Edmonton Elks @ BC Lions(-7.5) The good news for the Elks is that they will not be playing in Edmonton this week, since they seem to be totally incapable of winning at home. The Elks look to be the same season-long, cellar dweller that we have grown accustomed to in the last years. Last week the BC performed nicely against a tough Calgary team, taking a somewhat easy win 25-15. Look for the Lions to continue their winning streak, beating the Elks 41-18.

SUNDAY GAME

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Toronto Argonauts(-2) Will the “Grey Cup Hangover” infect the Toronto locker room in 2023, or will they continue where they left off in 2022? The Tiger-Cats are coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Blue Bombers in Week 1, and are sure to be looking to take a home field advantage against the Argo’s. @TheBrysh looks for this matchup to be the most competitive of the 2nd week, with the Argonauts taking it 28-22.
