The Wranglers come into 2026 as a fairly unique NLFA team. They are only one of three teams to have never made the postseason. While the post season set up isnt what it once was, this was mind-blowing considering the league’s history. You will see as you read along that this may be one of the more talent-filled rosters they have had. This year the NLFA is going to a 7v7 format and the roster sizes somewhat reflect that. Below is a breakdown, player by player. The only players not to have a breakdown are rookies and relatively unknown newcomers.
This is just the first in our 5-team breakdown series for the NLFA teams and their rosters. With the NLFA getting ready to kick off their 2026 season we wanted to take a look at the league as a whole, as well as the rules, and coaching staff to give the fans a basis for how this league works. Now we will bring you a roster breakdown from each team to give you a chance to learn more about each player on your favorite NLFA team.
Table of Contents
Wranglers Player Profiles:
Armando Cerda FB
High School/College: Longview High School
Height: 5′ 7″
Weight: 215 lbs
Experience: 2 Seasons
Hometown: Longview, TX
Age: 22
Cerda comes in the 2026 season with as much experience in the NLFA as you could ask for. The 2023 and 2024 seasons saw him contribute on every side of the Ball, but primarily as a linebacker. His 2 TFLS from 2024, and long punt of 45 yards are nothing to scoff at in a league like the NLFA. If you can believe it his stats come from only three games. While listed as an FB we very much believe he can star in any position that he manages to find himself in. When you catch an NLFA Wranglers game, watch out for #3.
Brenton Goss
High School/College: John Tyler/Tyler high
Hometown: Tyler, TX
Age: 21
Goss is a relatively unknown product for the NLFA! Be on the lookout for the Tyler, Texas Native.
Carlos De Leon WR
High School/College: Carlisle High School
Experience: 2 Seasons
Hometown: Henderson, TX
Dominant Hand: Right
Age: 20
After taking the 2025 season off, De Leon is back. The true two-way athlete graces the wranglers after starting and contributing in every single game in 2024. While listed as a WR, and serving as his primary position, he contributed on defense as well. He is only one of a handful of players to manage a passing TD and tackle in every single game he played in. He was even able to make a TFL in half of those games. Similar to his teammate this feels like another strong piece in an already stacked team.
Tylur Neal DB
Height: 6’0
Weight: 170 lbs
Experience: 2
Hometown: Longview, TX
Neal comes into the 2026 season with a well-populated stats log. Though he primarily plays DB he has recorded a stat on both sides of the ball, even completing two passes. The 5 TFl and an interception in the four games he has played for the NLFA are nothing to scoff, expect him to contribute in a big way as the season progresses.
Joshua Mapps (Athlete)
Height: 5′ 9″
Weight: 150 lbs
Experience: 3
Hometown: Henderson, TX
Age: 24
Mapps will be your all-around athlete you can lean on in just about any situation. The 2024 season would see him end with just under 200 yards receiving and two TDs, pair that with the ability to defend the pass, run the ball, and elude any secondary the NLFA has to offer and you’ll find your star for this upcoming season.
Eric Morrow QB
Experience: 3
Hometown: Longview, TX
Dominant Hand: Right
Strictly looking at his stats and game logs will have you wondering why he hasn’t found his way into a pro league. Morrow has recorded a stat in every category, except a TD. If we had to guess he most likely will capture that stat before the end of the season, watch out for number seven as the season kicks off.
Newcomers:
These are the players that are either new, or returning and we don’t have a ton of information on them. Just because they are new to the league doesn’t mean they don’t need to be highlighted!
Stephen Burkett TE
Jacob White RB
Fernie Espinoza
David Deleon TE
