All American Rundown Final Edition of 2026

Chaos, absolute chaos, is all you can really say about this past week’s American Indoor Football League games. We promised a sit-down with Mike Thorson, the owner of the Cedar Rapids Titans, but the chain of events that happened in the days before prevented, better yet, delayed our ability to really get a good sit-down. As you’ll find further into this article, the past weekend’s game was not typical, and a lot has to be addressed.

Message from Mike Thorson:

Before we ever get to a game recap, we wanted to share with the fans, sponsors, and all of the indoor football world a bit of what we learned. We got a chance to sit down with Mike Thorson and to follow up again.

During the conversation, he made it very clear that this isn’t who Cedar Rapids is, that the actions taken are inexcusable. He is by all accounts a hardworking owner who puts a lot of his time, mentally, physically, and emotionally into ensuring that the Titans are a staple of the community. He and his team are diligently working to ensure something like this never happens again.

We have had communication with Thorson and the Titans previous to this, and can promise this is not the standard they are setting. The community deserves a fun to watch, local roots indoor football team to root for and this is the core of what he and his team is trying to build. They are aiming to be one of the premier franchises in the American Indoor Football League.

American Indoor Footall Game Breakdowns

Wyoming 14 Cedar Rapids 12 DNF*

We have a hard time considering this a win for Wyoming, especially considering the bad faith post about their “win”. It was very much a hard-nosed battle until it was an absolute brawl. The way it ended left a lot to be desired, from what was a great game previous to that point. Outside of that there isn’t a lot to say. We refuse to spotlight the actions take by either group that fought.

This game ended as just another black mark on the already heavily scuffed reputation of the American Indoor Football League. The 2025 season on the surface looked like a much better representation of a league with a promising future, the 2026 version banked on expansions and relocations to provide a fully formed league by appearances. However it quickly became apparent, appearances are not as they may seem with the American Indoor Football League.

American Indoor Football Game Previews

Per Commissioner Terrance Foster: We will bring them when we can, due to the overall reluctance of Dom Montero to bring his team up to safety standards, they will no longer be allowed to play in the AIF. This leaves only two teams with arenas. We commend Commissioner Foster for all his hard work while trying to keep the AIF together.

What was even better to hear was the steps taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again. The staff that was involved are gone, and not going to return to the Titans; all of the players that jumped in are suspended or cut. We believe in the Titans and hope to see them around for years to come. The community is slowly coming back to them and we all hope to only see this as a small hiccup on the way to being a legacy franchise

AAL & AAL2

We are getting close! Players are starting to report, and more are signing. We will have more on the AAL and AAL2 in the following weeks in our yet-to-be-named weekly article on both leagues. If you’re a player and want your shot, find an AAL2 and find a way onto the roster. If you showcase your talent, there is a chance you can end up one of the lucky few drafted to the pro side!

There will be an episode of AAL2 Turf Talk coming up this week to discuss the beginning of the 2026 season, and the first week of games.

All American Rundown Content Adjustment

Following this version of AARD, we will be discontinuing the series. In its place will come two different weekly releases. One being a review and preview of the AIF(if the season continues), and one is a deep dive and update on the AAL and AAL2 in the same article.
