AEW’s Dynamite series has grown into the cornerstone of All Elite Wrestling. From showcasing new talent to promotion-altering match-ups, Dynamite keeps fans guessing every Wednesday night for two hours.
We recap this past event and look forward to next week’s Dynamite event coming up. Who won, who lost, and how did it happen in this week’s installment of AEW Dynamite?
AEW Recap: Death Riders vs Brodido w/ Mistico
Bandido and Wheeler start the match with a little showboating, followed by a very technical segment before Wheeler tags in Mox. Mox and Bandito immediately lock up. Mox runs Bandito into the ropes. Ref Aubrey makes him break the hold, and Mox tags in Claudio. Death Riders do a great job of isolating Bandido for the opening of the match. Bandido makes a break and tags in Mistico.
Claudio and Mistico have a decent segment before Mistico can tag in Brodie King, who immediately takes control of the match, taking out Claudio, Mox, and Wheeler before a commercial break. Upon return from commercial, Death Riders are back in control, isolating Bandido in their corner. Mox is the other legal opponent. After a brutal beating, Bandido can stun Mox, allowing for the double tag in of Claudio and Mistico.
Mistico gets a quick 2 count on Claudio before Mox intervenes and breaks the pin. Mistico tags in Brodie King. King rocks Claudio, who tags in Mox. King stuns Mox in the corner, and Claudio gets involved. King can get out of the situation at first, but with the distraction from Marina Shafir, Claudio can hit Brodie with the title, allowing Mox to take the pin. Death Riders over Brodido w/ Mistico. All in all, a great match. It was an effective way to continue the build to Forbidden Door, evening the score between the two teams heading into Sunday’s card.
Backstage to Renee, who is standing by with The Conglomeration. She asks them about their massive steel cage match pitting Team Briscoe vs Team MJF. They all agree that they are ready and announce that Mark Briscoe will be live in the ring tonight to address MJF. AEW is setting the stage for what is to come.
AEW Recap: Harley Cameron vs Marina Shafir
As Cameron is making her entrance, Shafir surprises everyone and takes her out with a kick to start the match. Cameron quickly gets her wits back and takes early control of the match, taking Shafir out of the ring. As they get back into the ring, Marina takes back the match and starts her destruction of Harley. Harley gets a quick comeback, eventually getting Marina in a Boston Crab.
Marina reverses it into a rear-naked choke, Harley flips over and pins Marina, who cannot counter. Harley gets the 1,2,3 for the upset. Both Women put on an excellent match. They were able to tell a great story of the underdog babyface struggling most of the match against the much stronger and technically skilled heel in a very short amount of time. Harley gets the win, but in a way that doesn’t really hurt Shafir’s character.

AEW Recap: Will Osprey vs ELP
The match starts with a handshake between the two very long-time opponents. The match is very back and forth, filled with reversals, as both men know each other so well. The friendly competition eventually breaks down, and they go from trying to win a friendly match to trying to beat their rival.
At the end of the match, Osprey hit a Styles Clash, followed by a Hidden Blade, and pinned ELP. As Osprey is walking to the ramp to exit, his opponent in the finals of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Swerve Strickland, makes his entrance for the next match. There is no contact between the two competitors, but the tension is thick as they make their way past each other.
AEW Recap: Swerve Strickland vs Daniel Garcia
Daniel Garcia enters solo, without the rest of The Death Riders. He wildly throws a chair and enters the ring very aggressively, getting in Swerve’s face. Swerve keeps his calm, almost laughing at Garcia, and quickly takes control of the match. Garcia can catch Swerve up in the ring apron and finally get some offense going, but focusing on the crowd costs him his momentum as Swerve hits him with a thunderous Big Boot out of the ring. Garcia countered a top rope attempt by Swerve and went for a pile driver on the edge of the ring.
Swerve is able to counter and drops Garcia with a Brain Buster for a quick 2 count. Swerve begins to humiliate Garcia, who is doing everything he can to hold on. Swerve let Garcia hit him twice with a running clothesline that didn’t do any damage. On the third given attempt, Garcia hits a low drop kick followed by a clothesline.
They both get the upper hand on the other until Swerve eventually hits a Hidden Blade (Will Osprey’s Finisher)on Garcia for the win. After the match, Swerve attacks Garcia. Will Osprey comes out for the save, but Swerve can get out of the ring and poses with The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Trophy.

AEW Recap: Jungle Jack Perry vs Zack Sabre Jr w/ TMDK
Perry and Sabre start with chain wrestling, and Sabre wins the exchange seemingly effortlessly, causing Perry to regroup in the corner. They continue to exchange submission attempts and arm drags until Jack gets a quick near fall, causing Sabre to roll out and regroup ringside. Perry meets him outside and runs Sabre into the ring post. As Perry is trying to pull Sabre into the ring, Sabre reverses again, taking the upper hand and momentum away from Perry.
Sabre continues his technical assault against Perry, but is almost disqualified when he doesn’t let go of an arm bar he illegally had out of the ring. This break allowed Perry to take offense back from Sabre, but only momentarily. Sabre gets Perry in a triangle choke, but Jack was able to reverse it into a Power Bomb and a 2 count. Jungle Jack has a few more outbursts of offense, but the technical skills of Zack Sabre Jr prove to be too much as Perry is forced to submit.
Young Bucks’ music immediately hits, and they make their way to the ring for their match against TMDK, who are still celebrating Sabre’s victory.
AEW Recap: Young Bucks vs TMDK
As we come back from the commercial break, the Bucks vs TMDK is just getting started. Both teams enter the ring at the same time, with The Bucks quickly taking control. Nick and Matt mirror each other with every move until they are both caught on the top rope by each member of TMDK.
The ref can get a little control, and Tito and Matt are now the official legal men before the match quickly breaks back down into a tornado tag. The Bucks win, but Zack Sabre returns as TMDK Nick and Matt. Kenny Omega’s music hits as he is flying to the ring. He makes the save and goes for a V-Trigger on Sabre, but the rest of TMDK can pull him to safety before Omega connects. Zack and Omega trade words, and TMDK exits.

AEW Recap: Red Velvet vs Queen Aminata Survival Of The Fittest Qualifier
The two immediately lock up. Velvet gets the offensive momentum first but is quickly shut down by The Queen, who was seemingly unfazed by Velvet’s fury. Velvet struggled at times to overcome the size difference but ended up surprising Aminata with her speed and creative style, dominating the majority of the match.
It was all for nothing, though, as in the end, Queen Aminata’s strength proved too much for Red, who was unable to secure her spot for the TBS Title opportunity. Queen Aminata gets the pin and joins the rest of the Survival Of The Fittest competitors next week in San Diego.
Renee interviews The Bucks, who are very confident in their chances on Sunday. There is commotion off camera, and as they pan over, Cope and Christian are throwing The Dawgs down a flight of stairs. This fight continues until The Dawgs eventually take the two legends out, choking them with camera cables.
Konosuke Takeshita(c) vs Ricochet
(AEW International Championship Match)
As Ricochet enters, the rest of The Demand leave as it is announced that everyone is banned from ringside for the championship bout. Ricochet gets a cheap shot, throwing his jacket in the face of Takeshita and kicking him out of the ring as the bell is rung. Ricochet continues to pick apart The Champ, who seemingly has no answer for the relentless onslaught of the challenger.
Takeshita catches Ricochet, who goes for a Shooting Star Press out of the ring, and the pendulum swings back in his direction. Ricochet can counter Takeshita’s running offense into the corner and gets a couple of near falls on The Champ, but Takeshita can narrowly kick out of both attempts. Ricochet goes to the top rope, but Takeshita catches him and goes for a German Suplex from the top. Ricochet counters and lands on his feet.
Takeshita goes for a running knee strike, but Ricochet pulls him in front of him, stopping Takeshita and hitting him with a head butt. Ricochet was almost able to turn this into a victory, but The Champ saw his own move coming, stopped Ricochet, and hit him with a knee of his own, pinning the Challenger in the middle of the ring to retain his title.
Mark Briscoe’s music hits as the Main Event ends. Briscoe grabs a mic and addresses the crowd regarding the match at Forbidden Door and MJF. Don Callis comes out to the ramp and distracts Briscoe, who is rushed from behind by MJF. Briscoe gets the upper hand, but Kyle Fletcher enters and takes out Briscoe. Takeshita comes out to take out Fletcher, who is then taken out by Okada.
As Okada is gloating, Kyle O’Reilly takes him out. The Jet Kevin Knight surprises O’Reilly, but Darby Allen is right behind him and goes for a coffin drop on Knight, and is caught by Jake Doyle. Rodrick Strong gets involved but is also quickly squashed by Doyle, but Orange Cassidy comes in for the save.
As Cassidy is putting his sunglasses on, MJF hits him with a low blow from behind, and Andrade appears. MJF and Andrade have words, but Callis calms them, and Andrade grabs Briscoe to set him up for a cheap shot by MJF with the AEW Diamond Ring. Briscoe ducks the punch, MJF hits Andrade, and Briscoe hits MJF with The Jay-Driver to close out the show.
A great Dynamite heading into Collision and Forbidden Door. If Wednesday was any indication, get ready for the landscape of AEW to drastically change this weekend!
